Hospital of the Future: Strategies for Disruptive Change - October 31,2008, presented by Robert V. Reese. The program was about successful hospitals adopting the challenge of becoming “great,” connecting strategy with superior operational performance. Seminar leader Robert Reece*, President of the Cambridge Research Institute,  provided attendees with insights, tools and frameworks for tackling the good to great challenge.

Developing Proactive Physician Alignment and Employment Practice - October 12, 2007, presented by Ken Mack, FACHE.   This program dealt with the challenges facing healthcare administrators when employing physicians.  Successful models for physician employment, equity and time-share joint ventures, marketing co-ops and specialty referral panels were discussed. 

Persuation Skills and Strategies - Getting the Results You Want - December 1, 2006 presented by Paul Preston, Ph.D.   This program focused on fine tuning leadership skills to get support from the board, physicians and staff.  A Category II session was also presented by Ted Cuppett, Managing Member of Dixon Hughes regarding the impact of financial reporting changes.

Understanding and Influencing Physician Behavior -  The Strategic Imperative -     On June 12,2006, a six-hour Category I (ACHE Education) credit program was held at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.  Dr. Joseph S. Bujak, FACP, the Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, presented a thought-provoking program on physician relationships.   "Understanding and Influencing Physician Behavior: The Strategic Imperative" was well received.  Participants were very appreciate for a local Category I program and Dr. Bujak's "down-to-earth" perspective.  Dr. Bujak brought his extensive experience as a speaker, consultant and facilitator working with physician groups and healthcare organizations to the program.

The Chapter sponsored a one-hour Category I (ACHE Education) program at the WVHA 2006 Mid-Year Conference at Stonewall Resort.  The program titled, "Career Positioning - Proactively Managing Your Professional Development" was moderated by Karin McGraw, Chapter President and included board members Louise Reese, FACHE, Douglas Bentz, and David McClure, FACHE in a panel discussion.  The program was well received and insightful.

Comprehensive Leadership for Senior Level Executives, led by Thomas Atchison, Ed.D.  was held in October 2005, in Charleston, WV.  This program provided attendees with strategies for communication, aligning people with plans and methods for sustaining change efforts.
